Male' City Council has formulated the policy to hold fairs, night markets, and other such events. The city council has also opened the opportunity for interested parties to hold fairs and such activities in the capital city.
The council announced those who wish to conduct a fair or night market in the Greater Male' Region consisting of Male', Villimale' and Hulhumale' can now apply to hold events. According to the policy, any such activities will be permitted on the days specified by the city council or on government holidays.
The council said interested individuals, when applying for the venture, must provide documents stating the capability to hold such an event adding non-governmental agencies, businesses and companies can also apply. As per the new policy, a processing fee of USD 1,295 and a security deposit of USD 3,237 must be paid by the event organiser. Furthermore, all necessary arrangements for such activities and any permits required by government offices must be handled by the organiser.
The city council added the application form and the documents required can be attained from the administration section of the council on working days from 1000hrs to 1300hrs.
