Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated sports play an important role in establishing the reputation of the country of the international arena. He made the remarks while meeting with the national basketball team ahead of the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Championship to be held in Bangladesh this month.
During the meeting, Vice President Naseem said sports are now an integral part of life, regardless of age. The vice president said sports also bring many benefits to the nation, most notably the unity and togetherness it brings to the nation. He added sports also play an important role in establishing the country’s reputation abroad, which also makes it an important tool of advertisement for tourism.
In his remarks, the vice president wished the national basketball team success in the upcoming SABA Championship, and urged them to make the nation proud. He also called on the team to let go of all differences when wearing national colours and work together in unison and national spirit to achieve success.
