Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has inaugurated several facilities established at the service block “Kalaaseen Koshi” in Hulhumale’.
The facilities inaugurated at Kalaaseen Koshi on November 11 include a Small Boat Repair and Maintenance Centre, Coastguard Second Squadron, Coastguard Diving Unit and the Boat Operation Centre. The facilities were officially inaugurated by Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi.
MNDF stated the facilities at Kalaaseen Koshi were developed by the relevant MNDF units amid the COVID-19 pandemic to serve the public better. MNDF stated its leadership aims to strengthen the manpower, resource systems and operations of the defence force and ensure the institution operates at a highly professional standard.
The inauguration ceremony at Kalaaseen Koshi was attended by Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef and several high ranking officers of MNDF.
