President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih meets President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa, during the current two-day official visit to Sri Lanka.
President Solih and President Rajapaksa held an extensive discussion on a wide array of subjects of mutual interest and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthen Maldives-Sri Lanka cooperation in the coming years.
The president and the first lady travelled to Sri Lanka to officiate the opening ceremony of the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy 2021 football tournament.
The Maldives and Sri Lanka played against each other at the opening match of the tournament, participated by national football teams from the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Seychelles.
