Maldives Police Service (MPS) has introduced neighbourhood police service in Kulhudhuffushi City.
The service was officially launched in Kulhudhuffushi by Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed during a special ceremony held on November 6. The service was introduced in Kulhudhuffushi as part of efforts to ensure police services are provided closer to the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Home Minister Imran highlighted the progress achieved by MPS in strengthening its services and adapting to modern ways of policing. He noted the introduction of neighbourhood police service in Kulhudhuffushi will boost the efforts to establish a safe, crime-free community in the city.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Hameed stated the neighbourhood police service is an integral part of the revolutionary changes being brought to the services of MPS. He expressed confidence that collaborative efforts from all in the community will yield successful results in establishing a safe and secure society.
In addition to the neighbourhood police service in Kulhudhuffushi, the home minister and police commissioner also inaugurated the new police post in Feydhoo, Shaviyani Atoll. During their tour to some islands in the north, the home minister and police commissioner also inaugurated a police desk in Thuraakunu, Haa Alifu Atoll.
