First Lady Fazna Ahmed has highlighted the importance of writing for therapeutic purposes. She made the remarks at a ceremony held at the Shine Tree Building to launch Owning My Thoughts: A Therapeutic Journal, a book authored by Hawwa Leesha.
Speaking at the ceremony, First Lady noted the book would act as a guide for new journal writers. She also spoke about the significance and benefits of writing journals for therapeutic purposes, further shedding light on the importance of sharing knowledge and resources with other working professionals in the mental health industry.
The Chairperson of Maldives-Australia Alumni Hawwa Leesha, designed the book with affirmative and positive quotes throughout the book to encourage readers to document their own experiences for a therapeutic journaling experience. The book is designated for people and children above the age of 12 years and was printed with the help of grants from the Australia Awards.
Five hundred copies of the book would be donated to schools and other public institutions, and an additional five hundred copies of the book will be sold commercially. The proceeds from the sale of the books would be donated to 10 selected parents with children with special needs.
