President meets with Speaker of Parliament

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed. The meeting was held at the President’s Office on October 24.

Discussions at the meeting was focussed on the local economy, climate change and environmental protection. The speaker also discussed the topic of a governance system most fitting for the country.

Speaker Nasheed returned to the Maldives on October 11, more than five months after he left the country to seek treatment for the injuries sustained in the May 6 attack.
