Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted MT Højgaard Private Limited to complete the coastal protection of Kudarikilu, Baa Atoll.
The contract was signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed and Senior Project Manager of MT Højgaard Jorgen Feldborg Skaarup.
The project involves the construction of three 100-metre breakwaters in the eastern end of the island, and one breakwater of 150-metres. The project also includes beach profiling and beach filling in the eastern and southern ends of the island. The project was contracted to be completed within 180-days at a cost of USD 905,000.
The Danish-based MT Hojgaard is planning to commence the works early next month.
