President inaugurates Masjid Al-Taqwa in Bodufolhudhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the mosque, Masjid Al-Taqwa, developed in Bodufolhudhoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll.

The president inaugurated the mosque during his visit to Bodufolhudhoo, as part of his ongoing visit to six islands of Alifu Alifu Atoll. Following the inauguration of the mosque, the president took part in a prayer congregation led by Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Islamic Minister Dr. Zahir noted Masjid Al-Taqwa is one of the mosques the current administration began development on, although the project had been delayed due to some issues faced by the initial contractor. The minister noted the mosque was later completed after contracting the remaining works to a new contractor.

Masjid Al-Taqwa is the third mosque to be developed in Bodufolhudhoo. The mosque can accommodate up to 300 people at a time.
