Maldivian Ambassador presents credentials to Norwegian King

Non-Resident Ambassador to Norway Ahmed Latheef has presented his letter of credence to King Harald V. He presented his credentials to the king of Norway at a ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Oslo.

During the Ceremony, Ambassador Latheef conveyed greetings from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the king and the people of Norway. He further expressed commitment to work closely with the Norwegian government to enhance the bilateral relationship between both countries.

During his visit, Ambassador Latheef visited the Section for South Asia and Afghanistan and met with Director Mattis Raustul and Senior Adviser Anne Glad Fredriksen. He also met with Deputy Secretary-General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Torgeir Larsen and discussed further strengthening the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit, Ambassador Latheef also paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Myanmar and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Oslo Maw Maw. Furthermore, the ambassador held discussions with senior officials of the Project Finance and Project Development of Norsk Solar on expanding the renewable energy projects in the Maldives. He also had a meeting with the Specialist Director at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries of Norway Gunnar Stulsvik, and discussed projects being implemented under the Blue Justice Initiative.
