President launches the farmers handbook by AgroNat

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has launched the Farmers Handbook, a publication by the Agro National Corporation (AgroNat). He launched the book at a ceremony in Kandoodhoo, Thaa Atoll, to celebrate National Farmers' Day and World Food Day.

AgroNat stated the book provides details on the agricultural products being made by farmers contracted by the corporation. The book provides details on the way farmers grow 17 agricultural products and also contains additional general information on their work.

AgroNat stated the book is available for free for its contracted farmers. The company has revealed it has signed contracts with 700 farmers across the country under the contract farming project, with the aim of contracting 2,000 farmers by the end of next year.

AgroNat was established by the government to market agricultural produce from local farms and provide a better income for farmers by providing technical and financial assistance to local farmers and helping them to market their produce. The company has established contracts with farmers to produce 17 different types of fruits and vegetables.
