Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has revealed preparations are underway to begin operations of its flying school in Addu, in collaboration with a company from the Czech Republic.
IASL revealed a joint venture is to be formed between IASL, Maldives National University (MNU) and a Czech flying academy to operate a flying school in Gan International Airport, Addu City. IASL, which operates the national airline Maldivian, revealed preparations are ongoing to begin operations of the school in December.
A flying school was previously operated in Addu by the Asian Academy of Aeronautics (AAA). However, due to several operational problems at AAA, a large number of students at the school have been unable to complete their course.
During a recent meeting with students of AAA, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih noted the AAA students will be able to complete their course through the new flying school to be established by IASL.
