PGA meets senior state officials of the Maldives

President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Abdulla Shahid has met with several senior state officials of the Maldives, as part of his official visit to the country in his capacity as the UNGA president.

President of the General Assembly (PGA) Shahid, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, arrived in the country following an invitation by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to visit the country in his capacity as the PGA. During this trip, Shahid has conducted meetings with several senior state officials, including Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan and Supreme Court Justice Husnu Suood. In addition, Shahid also conducted a meeting with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Eva Abdulla, along with the majority leader of the parliament and chairpersons of different parliamentary committees.

Furthermore, the PGA also met with Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi and the Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal. The meeting was attended by several senior officers of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Shahid took office as the PGA in September. He will be working at New York until the end of his term as PGA.
