Schools finish issuing vaccination green cards to parents

Ministry of Education has announced schools have completed issuing vaccination green cards to parents who have completed both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The education ministry introduced a vaccination green card to ensure all parents who fetch their children from schools are inoculated against COVID-19.

The ministry gave schools the responsibility to design and distribute the cards to parents after collecting the necessary vaccination records. As part of the additional measures imposed to safeguard schools against the spread of COVID-19, individuals who have not completed the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine are not allowed to enter schools. An exception is provided for students and individuals who are below the vaccination age, stated education ministry.

As part of the vaccination programme launched last month, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has been collaborating with schools to administer the Pfizer vaccine to students aged 12-17 since August 15. The education ministry revealed over 32,500 students from 190 schools have received the first dose of the vaccine.
