Mayor of Male' City Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met Bunyamin Demir, the mayor of the Güngören district in Istanbul, Turkey. The meeting took place during Mayor Muizzu's six-day official trip to Turkey.
During the meeting, the two mayors discussed means of cooperation between the councils of Male' City and the Güngören district. Male' City Council stated Mayor Demir has agreed to provide training opportunities for council employees.
During the meeting, Mayor Muizzu and Mayor Demir also shared information regarding their work and discussed the ongoing projects being conducted by both councils.
Speaking to the media before his trip, Mayor Muizzu said he plans to meet with various city councils in Turkey and discuss ways for the councils to provide assistance for Male' City development. The mayor said he expects his trip to be a productive one and that he will be meeting with councils of other countries in the future.
He added that he will also be meeting with councils in the Maldives and strengthening cooperation.
