Schools begin issuing vaccination green cards to parents

Schools have started issuing vaccination green cards to parents who have completed both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Education introduced a vaccination green card to ensure all parents who fetch their children from schools are inoculated against COVID-19. The education ministry said schools have been asked to design and distribute the cards to parents after collecting the necessary vaccination records. The ministry said most schools are expected to complete the distribution of green cards to vaccinated parents by the end of next week.

As part of the additional measures imposed to safeguard schools against the spread of COVID-19, individuals who have not completed the full dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine will not be allowed to enter schools, starting from September 1. The education ministry said an exception is provided for students and individuals who are below the vaccination age.

As part of the new vaccination programme launched earlier this month, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has been collaborating with schools to administer the Pfizer vaccine to students aged 12-17. The education ministry revealed over 32,500 students from 190 schools have received the first dose of the vaccine.
