Gov't contracts Amin Construction to build Vilufushi housing units

Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has contracted Amin Construction Private Limited to complete the construction of the current housing units and build 36 new housing units in Vilufushi, Thaa Atoll.

The agreement was signed by the Director-General of the Housing Department Ahmed Vishan and the Managing Director of Amin Construction Abdulla Mohamed. Under the agreement, Amin Construction is tasked with completing 64 unfinished housing units and build 36 new housing units in Vilufushi.

The housing ministry stated the project to build 100 housing units on the island was originally awarded to Noomadi Resorts and Residences in 2011 but the project has been at a standstill since 2014.

The ministry re-opened applications for tender and awarded the project to Amin Construction. The project is to be financed from the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP).

Amin Construction is tasked with completing the project within 240 days at a cost of USD 5.3 million.
