President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived in Thimarafushi as part of his trip to seven islands in Thaa Atoll.
President Solih arrived in Thimarafushi on the night of August 17. He was greeted in Thimarafushi by parliamentarians, institutional representatives and the people of the island. During this visit, he is scheduled to meet the Thimarafushi Island Council and Women’s Development Committee.
Thimarafushi is the first stop of the president’s seven-island trip to Thaa Atoll, which began on August 17. During this trip, President Solih will participate in events, visit important institutions and hold discussions with central stakeholders in each island. As such, the president will convene meetings with local councils, and residents of the atoll engaged in key sectors such as fisheries, education and local agriculture.
After concluding his visit to Thimarafushi, President Solih is scheduled to travel to Kinbidhoo, Omadhoo, Veymandoo, Vandhoo, Kandoodhoo and Gaadhiffushi.
