Discussions held on enhancing bilateral ties between Maldives and Seychelles

Discussions have been held on enhancing the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Seychelles. The discussions were held at the meeting held after the Non-Resident High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to Seychelles, Omar Abdul Razzak, presented his letter of credence to the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, on June 22.

During the meeting, President Ramkalawan congratulated the high commissioner on the commencement of his term, and conveyed greetings to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Maldives. President Ramkalawan also reaffirmed commitment of the Government of Seychelles to enhance the blossoming relations between the two countries and stated the confidence that the bilateral relations will reach new heights with the appointment of the first Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to Seychelles.

High Commissioner Razzak expressed his gratitude for being given the honour to present his letter of credence, and serve as the first Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Maldives to Seychelles. High Commissioner Razzak further expressed his commitment to work closely with Seychelles government with a renewed focus in enhancing the bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest including, promoting trade, investments, culture and tourism between the two countries.

High Commissioner Razzak also paid courtesy calls on the Vice President of Seychelles, Ahmed Afif and several members of the cabinet after the ceremony. High Commissioner Razzak is also scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the Speaker of National Assembly of Seychelles and other cabinet ministers during the visit.
