Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has refuted rumours that direct flight links are being established between Israel and the Maldives.
An Israeli website, Israel Hayom, reported Israeli travel company Caminos will operate five direct flights from September 6 until October 4, with tickets starting at USD 995.
In a statement issued following the circulation of the news, the ministry assured no airlines were given permission to travel between both countries. No such discussions were held or has the Government of the Maldives showed any interest in such a venture, according to the statement.
In addition, it is also prohibited to import any products of Israel to the Maldives, over the escalating inhumane activities conducted by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian citizens.
The Maldives continues to voice out in favour of Palestine and the rights of its citizens on several international platforms, strongly condemning the brutal terror attacks conducted by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians.
