Health Protection Agency (HPA) has allowed salons and barbershops to provide their services and establishes guidelines to allow work at construction sites.
HPA stated salons and barbershops will be allowed to operate from 0800hrs to 1600hrs after submitting a service plan to the agency. The service plan should include operating hours and the daily number of customers the establishment plans to serve. The service plans can be e-mailed to the Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) and establishments are only allowed to open after receiving a permit after an inspection, stated HPA.
Furthermore, HPA will allow construction to begin at worksites that receive permits from the Male' City Council and Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC). The construction companies are required to specify the type of work and the number of workers at the sites when requesting a permit.
According to the HPA, only registered workers will be allowed at the sites and they will only be allowed to travel between their residence and the work site using permitted vehicles. HPA eased restrictions due to the damages being incurred by small businesses such as salons and barbershops as well as construction companies.
