Ahmed Shareef has resigned from the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM).
In a Twitter post, Shareef, who was the head of the electoral body, said he is satisfied with the work he has done during the last three elections held in the Maldives and that he will continue to work in public service.
Ahmed Shareef was appointed to the ECM on March 6, 2018. Prior to his appointment to the ECM, Shareef served as a Deputy Minister of Education. He was also elected to the Parliament in 2013 and was appointed as the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Limited in 2016.
