Criminal Court Judge Sameer to be transferred to Drug Court

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to transfer Criminal Court Judge Mohamed Sameer to the Drug Court, as per his request.

JSC made the decision to transfer Judge Sameer to the Drug Court during its 45th session held on June 6, 2021. The decision was made following a request by Judge Sameer, in accordance to the regulation on judges requesting transfers to courts of the same level.

Meanwhile, JSC has also launched a disciplinary investigation against Judge Sameer in April this year. He is being investigated in relation to a complaint submitted to JSC regarding his conduct during a hearing held to extend the remand of a suspect.
