Magistrates appointed to courts in two islands

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed magistrates to courts in Addu City Hitadhoo and Maamendhoo, Gaafu Alifu Atoll.

JSC appointed Ziyadha Thohir as a magistrate of Hithadhoo Magistrate Court. Ziyadha Thohir, who earned her Bachelor of Law in University of London, had served in the Prosecutor General’s Office for 8 years.

Meanwhile, JSC appointed Aishath Sumaina as a magistrate of Maamendhoo Magistrate Court. She earned her Bachelor of Shariah and Law (Honours) from the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), and has been working as an attorney since 2018.
