The finance ministry revealed USD 9.4 million has been disbursed as frontline allowance as of April 29, 2021. The ministry said this amount was disbursed among 11,463 front line workers.
A frontline allowance was introduced to recognise the efforts of frontline workers active amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The allowance is given after classifying frontline workers into high-risk, medium-risk and low-risk categories. Frontline workers in the high-risk category would receive USD 32 per day, while workers in the medium-risk and low-risk categories would receive USD 16 and USD 13 per day respectively.
