Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed a 77-year-old Maldivian male has passed away from COVID-19.
HPA said male taken to ER of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in unresponsive state was declared dead at 10:14 a.m. This is the 50th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives. So far, 42 Maldivians and 8 expatriates have passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
As per the statistics of HPA, there are currently 1,025 active cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, including 74 patients admitted in medical facilities for treatment. A total of 14,765 cases have been reported in the Maldives since COVID-19 was first detected in the country on March 7.
