Judiciary flag to be flown at half-mast following death of Ex-Justice Mujuthaz Fahmy

Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has decided to fly the flag of the Judiciary at half-mast following the death of Retired Justice Mujuthaz Fahmy.

The former Supreme Court judge passed away on January 7 due to complications of COVID-19. He had tested positive for COVID-19 while undergoing home quarantine in Laamu Atoll.

Following the death of Retired Justice Fahmy, DJA conveyed its condolences to his family on behalf of the Maldivian Judiciary. DJA also announced the decision to fly the Judiciary flag at half-mast for three days to mourn the death of the former judge.

Retired Justice Fahmy had served in the judiciary for over 28 years. In addition to serving as a Supreme Court judge from 2008 to 2010, he had served as the Chief Judge at Civil Court and as a member of the Judicial Service Commission and the Judicial Council.
