Indian national arrested at VIA for talking about bombs

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested an Indian national at Velana International Airport (VIA) for talking about bombs.

MPS stated the incident occurred at around 1330hrs on December 29, when the Indian national had gone to VIA for departure. MPS said the individual was immediately taken into police custody for investigation. MPS added the individual has been remanded for 5 days under a court order.

Making comments or even joking about bombs or terrorism at an airport or an airplane is a serious offence which warrants an arrest. It is a rule that is followed in all airports around the world.
