Discussions held on enhancing the security of VIA

Discussions have been held on enhancing the security of Velana International Airport (VIA).

The discussions were held during a meeting held between Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Gordon Andrew Stewart. Ministry of Defence stated the discussions focused on furthering cooperation in enhancing the security-related aspects of VIA. Minister Mariya was joined at the meeting by Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

VIA is the main international gateway of the Maldives. Hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists seek services at the airport every year.
