President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ibrahim Shaheeb and Shiruzimath Sameer as the High Commissioners of the Maldives to Singapore and Bangladesh respectively.
The new High Commissioners to Singapore and Bangladesh were handed their letters of appointment during a special ceremony held at the President’s Office on November 15.
The newly appointed High Commissioner to Singapore Ibrahim Shaheeb previously served as the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Shaheeb also previously held the positions of Additional Secretary, Permanent Secretary and Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Development Studies from the Australian National University, Canberra.
Shiruzimath Sameer, who was appointed as the High Commissioner to Bangladesh, previously held the position of Additional Secretary for East and Central Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also previously held the position of Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of the Maldives in Germany. She attained her Master of Social Science in Strategy and Diplomacy at the National University of Malaysia/Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Malaysia.
