People are beginning to trust the health services of the country: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated the people of the Maldives have begun trusting the health services and facilities of the country once again, due to tremendous effort exerted by the government within the past two years. The vice president made the remarks in an exclusive interview to PSM News commemorating two years of the current administration.

In the interview, vice president who also chairs the social council said, the dependency on a certain region for health services is changing, little by little. The vice president stated as part of efforts by the government to ensure adequate health service in all regions, the services provided in the southernmost and northernmost atolls have been enhanced. He added as a result, the facilities in atolls have made incredible progress and shown major successes.

Noting major works will be done to enhance the health sector of the country during the remaining years of the current administration, Vice President Faisal Naseem said the notable amount allocated in the State Budget 2021 for health sector remains evident to the task. He expressed hope development of medical facilities across the country will minimise the travel to the capital city for health services.
