New Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) Dr. Mohamed Solih has stated his aim is to change the current public perception of the hospital.
Speaking to PSM News, the CEO said he is aware of the concerns raised by the public regarding the services of the hospital. In this regard, he highlighted some of the frequently faced issues such as difficulties in getting doctors’ appointments, long queues for specialist doctors and the lack of response to phone calls. He said new recruitment and redefinition of duties will be carried out upon a thorough analysis of the issues.
Dr. Solih stated he aims to resolve all major issues and ensure AEH can provide a similar standard of service as Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). He expressed confidence of changing the current perception of the hospital and gain public trust for the services of the hospital.
Dr. Solih was appointed as the CEO of AEH following the recent upgrade of the hospital to a tertiary level hospital. Dr. Solih was appointed at the level of a Deputy Minister.
Dr. Solih has been active in the field of healthcare management for almost 15 years, including in executive positions, and has further accumulated 26 years of experience in clinical care. He had previously served as Chief Surgeon, Managing Director and CEO at Medica Hospital; and Head of Department of Surgery, and Senior Consultant General Surgeon at IGMH, among many other senior positions in the health sector.
