Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has resumed issuing municipal permits to complete construction projects that were initiated in Hulhumale' before the COVID-19 pandemic.
HDC has restarted issuing permits following approvals from the Health Protection Agency (HPA). HDC said companies that wish to continue the projects during the lockdown may request a municipal permit via email. Additionally, people who require architectural drawing approvals may also request for the service via email.
All construction projects in the Greater Male' Region have been temporarily hlated due to the lockdown imposed on April 15. Maldives National Association of Construction Industry (MNACI) has predicted the construction industry will face a loss of USD 53 million due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
