President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed three members to Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) as approved by the Parliament of Maldives.
At a ceremony held at the President’s Office, letters of appointment were handed over to Mariyam Waheedha, Ali Yusuf and Ahmed Gais upon their appointment to the commission.
Ali Yusuf completed postgraduate studies in journalism at the Asian College of Journalism, India and is a seasoned journalist. He last held the post of Director of News at Raajje TV.
Mariyam Waheedha earned her Master's Degree in Developmental Studies at the University of East Anglia, the UK. She previously served as a board member at Public Service Media (PSM).
Ahmed Gais attained his Master's Degree in Business Administration at Anglia Ruskin University, the UK. He previously served as a Councillor at Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll Council.
Furthermore, Mariyam Waheedha was elected as the President of Broadcom and Ahmed Gais was elected as the Vice President of Broadcom following a meeting of the commission held shortly after their appointment.
