Maldives Customs Service statistics have shown that the Maldives earned USD 22.76 million from imports and exports in March.
This is a slight increase compared to March last year, when imports were valued at USD 22.69 million.
According to Customs, total imports in March were valued at 369.6 million, up from USD 285.4 million during the same period last year.
Oil products accounted for the largest share of import value, amounting to USD 103.76 million, followed by food items at USD 68.1 million. Machinery and mechanical equipment ranked third at USD 62.2 million.

In March, total exports stood at USD 5.38 million. The export goods were canned fish, valued at USD 3.31 million, and raw fish, at USD 520,000.

Customs said a total of 168 vessels arrived in the Maldives in March, while 177 departed.
