Vice President visits Maarandhoo and Ihavandhoo

Vice President Faisal Naseem has visited Maarandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll.

Upon his arrival, the vice president was met with the people of the island and stated the policies of the administration is based on providing equal opportunities of development for every island. He also stated the administration gives special focus on the improvement of health and education system and that the people would see positive changes in the near future.

During his visit, the vice president toured school and health centre, power house and met with the employees working at the institutes and enquired on the current situation and the challenges faced while carrying out the mandate of the institutes.

The vice president also met the members of Maarandhoo Island Council. During the meeting, the council members briefed the vice president on some of the pressing issues faced in the island and on ongoing development projects, including the need to update the harbour, the need to increase the number of classrooms in Maarandhoo School and the need for a football stadium in the island.

The vice president noted their concerns and indicated that the government will not discriminate any island and will work with the relevant ministries in finding a solution for the issues pointed out by the council and institutions in the island.

Furthermore, the vice president also visited Ihavandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll. Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the islands community.
