ECM prints 267,159 ballots papers for April 6 polls

Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has printed 267,159 ballots papers for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In a press conference, President of ECM Ahmed Shareef said the ballot papers were printed from Novelty Printers and Publishers. He said two security features will be included in the black and white ballot papers.

The head of the electoral body said two parties proposed to print ballot papers, revealing M7 Print Private Limited offered to print the ballot papers in colour. However, he said ECM opted for the cheaper option, which cost about USD 168,000.

ECM said 264,589 are eligible to vote in the parliamentary elections to be held next Saturday.
