Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has noted the importance of technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to the development of the nation. Communication Minister Maleeh made the remarks at the ceremony held to launch the workshop on Blockchain Technology Application to International Trade.
Speaking in this regard, Minister Maleeh said technologies like artificial intelligence, distributed ledger technologies and internet of things (IoT) can be key enablers for development of prosperous and empowered communities across the island nation.
The workshop is held to commence the pilot project of blockchain technology in Maldives with the assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB). The workshop, attended by about 50 participants, will be held by technical consultants from ADB.
