Maldives Immigration has decided to issue employment approval of expatriates within 48 hours.
If all necessary documents are valid and complete, the employment approval documents will be issued within 48 hours of submission, according to Immigration. The authority will notify the submitter within 48 hours if the documents are incomplete. Previously, the employment approval is issued within 3-7 days upon submission.
However, Immigration said the duration was shortened to ease the process for expatriates and employers. Immigration expressed hope the decision will further boost the services of the authority.
Although issuing employment approval and quota were conducted by Maldives Immigration, the tasks are to be transferred to Ministry of Economic Development.
