MDP candidate for Mahibadhoo pulls out from race

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s candidate Ali Ahmed, who was to contest for Mahibadhoo constituency at the upcoming parliamentary elections, has withdrawn from the race.

A total of five candidates were set to contest the Mahibadhoo seat at parliament. However, Ahmed's withdrawal has reduced the number to four.

Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has also confirmed that Ali Ahmed has pulled out of the race. ECM stated it has accepted the withdrawal of his candidacy as the decision was informed prior to the ballot papers being printed.

Since its candidate has withdrawn his candidacy, MDP has endorsed the candidate from Adhaalath Party (AP) running for Mahibadhoo constituency.
