Efforts underway to solve technical issue faced by aircraft: IASL

Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) has revealed efforts are underway to solve the technical issue faced by the Dash-8 aircraft which was delayed due to complications, en route to Gan International Airport, after takeoff from Velana International Airport (VIA).

Landing was delayed for a Maldivian Dash-8 aircraft by more than an hour due to a mechanical malfunction it its landing gear on Tuesday. 44 passengers was on board at the time of the incident.

In a press statement, IASL apologised to its customers for the inconvenience and the stress caused due to the mechanical failure. IASL assured its commitment to ensuring that all such unfavorable situations are prevented. Furthermore, IASL guaranteed efforts to identify and solve the technical issues were underway. It maintained the airline complied with all regulations set by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

IASL expressed gratitude to the passengers for the support they extended to crew members.
