Indian External Affairs Minister to make an official visit to Maldives

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj will make an official visit to the Maldives, from 17-18 March. The trip of Indian External Affairs Minister is made upon invitation of the Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

During the visit, the Indian External Affairs Minister will call on the President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the Speaker of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim, and meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and hold a joint Ministerial Meeting to discuss cooperation on a wide variety of issues.

Both governments will discuss ongoing and future collaboration arrangements, including the implementation of the agreed outcomes of the State Visit to India by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. In this regard, it is expected that discussions will focus on development cooperation, cooperation in the field of health, and enhancing people-to-people contact.
