Shortage of teachers in Arabiyya School to be solved next week

Chief of Staff at President's Office Ali Zahir has expressed hope the issue regarding lack of teachers at Arabiyya School will be solved next week.

Speaking to media upon arrival to Velana International Airport (VIA) after concluding the visit to Egypt, Chief of Staff Ali Zahir started meetings with representatives of Al-Azhar University in Cairo were very successful and ambitious. Noting the relations with Al-Azhar University were diminished during 2017, when 7 teachers were deported, Ali Zahir added the issues have been now solved.

Moreover, Ali Zahir said the Maldives have now apologised and teachers will be sent back once administrative works are completed. 4 teachers of Al-Azhar University currently teach in Arabiyya School, while 18 more teachers will be sent to Maldives in the coming days, according to Ali Zahir. He said discussions were held to conduct student exchange programmes and other collaborations between the two countries.
