Japan donates 2 classrooms and other facilities to Rathafandhoo School

The Government of Japan has donated 2 classrooms to Rathafandhoo School in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. The agreement of the project was signed by Ambassador of Japan to Maldives Keiko Yanai and Principal of Rathafandhoo School Mohamed Abdulla.

The project would be conducted by the Embassy of Japan in Maldives and Rathafandhoo School, according to Ministry of Education. The decision was made as part of the policy to grant more authority and power to schools in Maldives. However, the education ministry would provide technical assistance in successfully completing the project.

Furthermore, other facilities, including an audio visual room and a science laboratory would be developed, as part of the project conducted by Grant Assistance for Grassroot Project (GGP). The USD 81,775 project should be completed within 6 months.

There are 103 students studying in Rathafandhoo School, according to the education ministry.
