Maldivian Ambassador presents credentials to Sri Lankan President

The newly appointed Ambassador of Maldives Omar Abdul Razzak has presented his Letter of Credence to President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena at a ceremony held at the President’s House in Colombo.

During the brief meeting after the presentation of credentials, President Maithripala Sirisena welcomed Ambassador Razzak to Sri Lanka and expressed sincere hope to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During his interactions with the President Sirisena, Ambassador Omar conveyed cordial greetings and good wishes from the President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the president and the friendly people of Sri Lanka. Ambassador further stated Sri Lanka was one of the most important development partners for Maldives and assured President Sirisena that during his tenure in office as the ambassador to Sri Lanka, he would diligently work to further strengthen the existing long-standing friendly ties between the two countries.

President Solih appointed Omar Abdul Razzak as the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka on January 20.
