India assures of Indian friendship to Maldives

Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj has reiterated assurance of Indian friendship and mutual cooperation with Maldives. The assurance was given during the courtesy call paid by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi.

During the call, discussions were held on strengthening traditionally strong and friendly relations through development cooperation, human resource development and people-to-people exchanges.

President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed are currently on a state visit to India on invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The president and first lady are being hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan, as special guests of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
