Male' City Mayor Shifa Mohamed reveals plans to identify where most waste are dumped and revealed the task has been handed over to Maldives Police Service.
Speaking to PSM News during the nationwide cleaning programme, Mayor Shifa said cooperation of citizens is needed to sustainably solve issues related to waste management. Noting citizens need to be aware on the importance of waste management, Shifa urged to put forth individual responsibilities.
Moreover, Shifa noted some areas where waste is dumped have been identified during the cleaning event. On the same note, Shifa revealed more such areas will be identified in the coming days, and noted the environment police has been tasked to monitor those areas.
Furthermore, she expressed efforts are also underway to enhance the waste management operations in the greater Male' region.
