Maldives attends counter terrorism seminar by UNODC

Maldives attends a seminar on Countering the Financing for Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction held in Singapore. The seminar organised by United Nations Office for Drug and Crimes (UNODC) is held from December 4 to 6.

The Maldivian delegation attending the seminar includes of Director of National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Zakariyya Mansoor and senior officials from Maldives Police Service and Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

Speaking to PSM News, Zakariyya Mansoor revealed information on terrorist threats to the country will be further identified during the seminar. He expressed the seminar will further boost the efforts of the government to safeguard Maldives.

The seminar focuses on national level and international level efforts to counter terrorism and counter financing terrorism. Moreover, discussions will be held on topics such as collective efforts exerted by countries to counter terrorism.
