MNDF concludes safety training exercise

Maldives Fire and Rescue Services has continued the fire safety training exercise, Jarraafaa 2018. The safety training exercise began on November 29. The programme had officers train in various scenarios on water and land.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the safety exercise, Directorate of Operations and Training Principal Brigadier General Hamid Shafeeq said the most important aim is to prepare and refresh the fire and rescue officers to any unfavourable situation that may be caused.

One other aim of the safety training is to ensure the officers make the best use of available equipment and machinery in addition to preparing officers to overcome fire situation thoughtfully and skilfully, according to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). The military force stated the training programme was held in Male', Hulhumale', Villimale', Thilafushi and on waters of the greater Male' region.

Furthermore, MNDF said the new fire and rescue cycles were used during the training programme.
