Government to establish offices to maintain Male' area flats

The government of Maldives has decided to establish offices to maintain and provide security for Male; area flats. Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure revealed the decision at a press conference held to officially hand over the security of the flats to Maldives Police Service. The agreement of the venture was signed by Minister of State for Housing Ministry Mohamed Ibrahim and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed.
After signing the agreement, State Minister Mohamed Ibrahim revealed while the security of the flats have been handed over to the police, efforts are fast underway to solve the difficulties faced by tenants. The agreement is a detailed document to facilitate the efforts of the police force in providing security for the tenants, revealed the state minister, adding a special force will be stationed at the flat buildings. The security of the areas will be enhanced with the installation of cameras and other surveillance equipment, according to the state minister.
President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom handed over the responsibility of maintaining the flats to housing ministry following public complain on the poor maintenance provided by Male' City Council.
